The following is a verse from my poem "The Thistles" adapted for this photo, which I took on Monday. It appears in "Blinded by Love or Science".

What name shall we give
these purple-crowned thistles?
- Among the multitude in yellow and white.
Are they stealthy infiltrators,
sent by an alien regime?
Or noble delegates from a far-off land,
 who choose,
and are chosen,
to be here, among us?
